Jordan Institute - Interesting, Intriguing, Inspiring!

The Priests and Laurels were invited to tour SLCC's Jordan Campus Institute and WHO KNEW?!?
Who knew they cater to 18 to 30 year olds - even if not currently taking any college courses? And when I say "Cater" - I mean CATER! Websters says:
1: to provide a supply of food (snack to your hearts content)
2: to supply what is required or desired (learn & make new fun friends with the best standards)
Who knew they have "Waffle Wednesdays" and more weekday breakfast staples offered for your dining pleasure? Who knew they have "Mix & Mingling" after every night class - that includes board games, volleyball & treats?? Last night we were offered scones with all your favorite toppings and Megan shot hoops. All this after our tour guide Janelle gave us giant Chocolate chunk cookies & Creamies!!! We played pool & ping pong in their game room, listened to their choir practice some upbeat tunes and learned that all this is FREE! Just sign up! We loved this activity and plan on taking our youth again next year!

Wednesday is Wacky Awards Night!

Camp was a blast and we want to re-live the good times and goofy moments in lip-smacking leftovers and
"Almost-Always-Awkward" Awards!!
You KNOW you want to hear what giggles will erupt over you and your tent buddies' mishaps and often just some down home, honest to goodness:
"We're so grateful to have "Miss Congeniality" in our "Family" LUV - cuz that's what it's all about! Different talents combining to make our time together a terrific little
"Ohana Paradise"!

Okay, paradise might be a bit far fetched with all those mosquitoes - but we've blocked that trauma by now - haven't we???
(Bring your camp manuals, scriptures and appetites to Sister P's at 6:30 sharp!)

Graduation and Granola! ;p

I just wanted to take the opportunity today to say
Hip - Hip - Hooray!!
To all our graduates moving on from high school & seminary ~
to college, careers and craziness that can consume you
as you become the adults
our Heavenly Father meant for you to be!
Remember who you are ~
and always Choose the Right!
Even if you think you're SO far from Primary ;p
- remember that your choices now are more important than ever!
Remember you are loved and looked up to!
And to help you "To be Strong and of a Good Courage"
- here is the fabulous Granola recipe from Sister Matthews!
=)
**Great Girls Camp Granola**
5 C. Old fashioned (rolled) oats
1 C. Wheat germ
1/3 C. Flax Seed
1/2 C. Sunflower seeds
1/2 C. Chopped Almonds
1/3 C. Canola oil
1/3 C. Maple Syrup
1/4 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 t. Salt
1 C. Shredded Coconut
1 pkg Raisins or Craisins
Mix oats, wheat germ, seeds & nuts in large bowl, set aside. In separate bowl, mix oil, syrup, brown sugar & salt. Pour over dry ingredients and stir. Spread onto large jelly roll pan and bake at 300 for 25 minutes, stirring halfway thru. Let mixture cool slightly then add coconut and Craisins. Sister Matthews also added extra maple syrup for a stickier granola. (Original recipe is drier and makes a great cereal!) Add m&m's if you'd like and store in an airtight container.
Enjoy!
